Caramel Toffee Squares a.k.a Grandma Squares

Ingredients
  

Bottom Layer
  • 1/2 Cup Salted Butter melted + 2 tsp
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 1/4 Cup Flour
Middle Layer
  • 1/2 Cup Salted Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp corn syrup
  • 1/2 Cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
Top Layer
  • 3/4 Cup Chocolate Chips

Equipment

  • 1 9x9 Pan
  • 1 Saucepan
  • Measuring Cups

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉
  2. In a 9x9 pan, mix together bottom layer ingredients and bake for 20 mins.
  3. While the bottom layer is baking, combine middle layer ingredients in a small sauce pan and bring to a boil.
  4. Pour middle layer over baked bottom layer and place in the fridge to cool.
  5. Melt chocolate chips and spread evenly over the cooled first 2 layers.
  6. Can be stored in the fridge or freezer in an air tight container.
